Acupoint Embedding Hong Kong: Acupoint Embedding Cost Hong Kong and Acupoint Catgut Embedding Explained
Published Updated
Acupoint embedding is an invasive Chinese medicine procedure in which absorbable thread is placed at selected acupuncture points rather than a needle being removed immediately. In traditional practice, the thread is intended to provide ongoing point stimulation. That description is not proof of a weight-loss mechanism or a promise of an individual result. If you are considering acupoint embedding Hong Kong for weight concerns, start with an assessment of your health history, medicines, skin condition and goals. TCM Lab offers a full-body acupoint embedding session at Prince Edward or Kwun Tong for HK$980, with no trial session. It should sit alongside sustainable food, activity and, where needed, medical weight-management support—not replace them.
Appointments are confirmed through WhatsApp. If you have language requirements, please mention them in your enquiry.

The short answer
Acupoint embedding, also called acupoint catgut embedding in some research, places absorbable thread at selected acupuncture points for continuing stimulation in traditional practice. It is an invasive procedure, so suitability, material, sterile technique and aftercare need individual discussion. At TCM Lab Hong Kong, a full-body session costs HK$980 and there is no trial session. It is not a proven substitute for balanced eating, physical activity or medical care for weight-related conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Does acupoint embedding hurt?
Insertion may feel like a brief prick, pressure, soreness, tingling or a dull ache, and people experience it differently. Tell the practitioner immediately if discomfort is sharp, severe or escalating. Worsening pain, spreading redness, pus, fever, breathing difficulty or another unusual reaction needs prompt medical assessment rather than an assumption that it is normal.
Does an absorbable thread need to be removed?
Absorbable material is intended to break down gradually according to its properties. If there is infection, a material reaction or another complication, a healthcare professional may need to assess the site and decide on further treatment, including whether removal is appropriate. Do not squeeze, cut or try to remove material yourself.
How many acupoint embedding sessions are needed?
There is no fixed number or interval suitable for every person. The practitioner should consider your health history, the material and technique proposed, skin response, goals and any medical advice before discussing another session. Published study schedules are research protocols, not a universal treatment plan.
Can I shower or exercise after acupoint embedding?
Follow the individual instructions given for your selected sites and procedure. Ask specifically about showering, swimming, massage, sauna use, clothing friction and your usual exercise. Keep the area clean and avoid manipulating it. Seek medical assessment for worsening redness, warmth, discharge, fever or significant pain.
